June marks an important intersection: it is both Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month. To me, this is a perfect testament to a belief I hold very deeply: we are never just one thing. We are the combination of everyone who has come before us, of all of our experiences, of every piece of ourselves.
It can be hard to put all that we are into words, that’s why introductions can feel so daunting, but are so important. The beauty of it is that words can never hold the essence of all that you are, but they can help others relate to us. Only those who truly see our Spirits will ever really know us, and what a beautiful thing to be seen with such honesty.
Here is an invitation for you to reflect on what has shaped your spirit and how you walk through this world in relation to all of Creation.
